A social enterprise project by Tonbridge boys inspired by the current pandemic has been awarded a place on the University of Cambridge ‘Camstart’ programme.
Just before the second national lockdown, brother and sister Theo, age 10, and Tilda age 11, both pupils at Highfield and Brookham Schools took on an enormous challenge and climbed Ben Nevis to raise money for the charity Young Minds Trust.
Millfield BTEC Enterprise and Entrepreneurship student Ailbe Bartlett has been awarded the Highly Commended prize of £1000 and a full mentoring programme from BBC Dragon’s Den star Peter Jones CBE after reaching the final of the Peter Jones Foundation National Entrepreneur of the Year competition.

Stroud School Year 1 children enjoyed a Florence Nightingale Day yesterday and learnt about her life and work; they made lanterns and investigated artefacts from her lifetime.
Towards the end of the Summer Term, Year 2 at Highfield and Brookham Schools were learning about descriptive writing in Literacy with a particular focus on writing poems. Their teacher, Mrs Staring, was so impressed with their efforts that she felt she had to send their poems to Blue Peter.
